I'm working on 2 limited run JSKs (about 2-4 of each dress would be available) And here are the designs so far.

I have some of the fabrics already so i am including the pics of that below too.... What do you think? What would you change etc... just looking for some good feed back :)
Swatches below! )

What am I thinking of? Edit: Oh, that.

I remember a dress by Baby the Stars Shine Bright. It came in classic colors and it featured French text that translated to something approximating, "Marie doesn't like her studies." Does anyone know what I'm thinking of? Pictures would be appreciated. Thank you.

Edit: Thank you very much for the information. I'm not familiar with brands, but I've always loved that dress.

BTSSB Lucky Pack Mega-Post!

  • 8th Jan, 2010 at 3:21 PM
I figured I'd make a big mega post thread for the Baby lucky packs so we don't clog up the community. :) Plus it's a great way to see what everyone got without having to search too far! Figured I'd do this now since they seem to be trickling in.

I got a lucky pack myself and I'm off to get it right now, so pictures will be under a cut when they are taken! I got the knit and jumper lucky pack! Hoping for something not pink.

HeartE Lucky packs

  • 8th Jan, 2010 at 10:18 PM
Hi all

I have ordered a jumper skirt lucky pack from HeartE (I AM SO EXCITED!), i was wondering if anyone has got a lucky pack from HeartE before what they got?
I have ordered from HeartE before using a shopping service and take a while to ship...but I am getting a little  worried. I ordered it before Christmas but the shopping service still hasn't got it... anybody else order from HeartE before? How long did they take to ship? Am I being overly paranoid?

Thanks so much xx

Just a real quick question...

Does anyone know of some good books that appeal or relate to the lolita lifestyle? Novels that you would reccomend for someone who is into lolita?

Design your own clothes?

  • 8th Jan, 2010 at 4:42 PM
If you design your own clothes and/or have your own shop here on LJ or another site, I have an inquiry and/or possible favor to ask. (If this would better belong in the egl sales community, I apologize and will take my questions elsewhere.) I am the president of the anime club at my high school, and this year we have made the first club-wide plans to go to Animazement 2010. However, first we must run fundraisers to raise money for hotels, ext.

Opinions on a personal realization...

  • 8th Jan, 2010 at 10:38 AM
I know the subject of age and lolita has been discussed many times before, but I was wondering if anyone has a similar issue to mine that's been bugging me lately:

Do you feel that by the time you have enough funds to create the lolita wardrobe of your dreams, it may no longer be appropriate for you to wear it?

For the interested, please click for an essay with a clearer explanation and huge elaboration of my problem )

EDIT: Wow, I never expected so many responses. Thank you to everyone for their suggestions and opinions. I'm happy to see that there's pretty much no age limit to lolita and I'm definitely not giving up on looking for a job now, no matter how ugly the job market looks right now. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!

I have heard brand items are made to fit Japanese size 9 which is something like a 25.5 inch waist, right?  (Unsure of the bust measurement, though.)  I have a 26.5 inch waist, which isn't tiny at all, maybe big in terms of fashion, especially compared to Japanese girls.  Will I be able to fit correctly in brand?  I've heard even shirred brand will technically fit, but look strange over people who have non Japanese size 9 bodies.
I think about Gothic-Loli (or maybe aristocrat-loli) wedding dress...
I've chosen two models at FanPlusFriend but need a little advice about them...
First of all does anybody know how "cream" and "purple" looks like?
The second is did anybody actually see these two dresses in real life? Are they as fantastic as on the pictures?
pics!! )

Also, I would be grateful for other ideas dresses, which could be used for the wedding (with links)

And one more coordinate question, how should man's outfit look like to match such dress?

Thanks! (at least for reading ^_^ )

Tokyo style in vogue

  • 8th Jan, 2010 at 12:33 PM
So I was checking out teen vogue today and they had an article on tokyo style

http://www.teenvogue.com/style/trend/streetchic/tokyo#slide=1

I was totally expecting a lolita dress or something, but they had a short puffy dress that looked more like an american party dress. I wonder if they'll ever put a lolita dress as a trend but I guess that would be bad because people would probably associate it with cosplay and not an actual lifestyle.

but it seems tokyo style is coming more and more to america I just hope people become more open to not see it as a costume and learn to appreciate the style.

So would you ever want lolita fashion to be seen in a more mainstream way? or keep it more exclusive?

I kinda of like the way it is now as a bit more exclusive, because as everyone knows trends fade away and once they're gone people see the style as ugly and I would never want it to turn into an old trend  of 2010.

Your Dream Dress

  • 8th Jan, 2010 at 10:39 AM
Today, I won my very first Dream Dress off of Y!J, Mary Magdalene's St. Claire OP in Olive! And strangely enough, in a way, I feel incredibly accomplished that I did. I certainly spent a lot more than I should have, (probably about $350 once shopping service fees and shipping are added in) but I feel great, and that I now feel more inspired to start on my massive list of what I actually want to be in my wardrobe versus my horrible habit of impulse buys. >_<

For those who are wondering what on Earth I'm talking about, it's this dress:

So what I think I'm trying to get at here is, what did you girls feel like when you bought/won your main dream item?
Is it still a dream, or is it in the mail on it's way to you?
Do you have a set list of colors/themes you base your wardrobe on?
What is it? (Show pictures if you can!)
Have you already gotten all of your dream items? Or do you never stop dreaming?
For those of you that did get it, was it everything you thought it would be?
Or heck, just share some stories relating to this! I'm really curious what other girls have done to get that big wish~

I'm sure this has been done a thousand times, but it always makes me happy to hear when other people achieved that goal.

Bodyline help

  • 8th Jan, 2010 at 2:46 PM
Hi guys, sorry to create another post about Bodyline i know there's a lot of them, but i was just wondering if anyone had this dress?:
http://www.bodyline.co.jp/bodyline/showProduct.asp?id=3073&pageNumber=1&pageStop=stop_3&noSubType=N

If so, I don't suppose you could tell me what colour the dress pictured is? I have no idea if that's the pink or brown version. And if its possible I'd like to see a pic of the dress in the other colour option.
Thanks in advance for your help
